Pep Boys is in a very transitional period of its long history. Their new "Road Ahead" philosophy includes a cultural shift as well as a rebranding. As remodeling and renovation happens in their brick & mortar stores, their web presence had to be brought in line with the changes occurring elsewhere in the company.
This new header and footer ensures more consistent branding across the board. It also keeps in mind the need for a “mobile first” approach, as mobile users increasing make up a percentage of online sails. This redesign is merely a first step in a greater overhaul of the web site at large. It served PepBoys.com customers from December 2014 until the present during this transitional period.
